Academic salaries
Yesterday on the picket line a newly graduating student with a Master's degree asked me if I thought their starting salary was fair.
When I said it was more than I earn as a Senior Lecturer at the top of my pay band, they assumed I was joking.
I was not.
Pay isn't everything, and is only one part of this dispute.
But with ever worse pay, pension & working conditions how will employers attract future researchers, educators, and professionals?
