@vkc I have a smart speaker but it's not in use yet. It's a 1st-gen Amazon Echo I found for cheap from a second-hand shop and I intend to mod it like this hackaday.com/2021/03/22/amazon once I have a lot more experience using soldering irons and working on electronics projects.

I don't know how much I'd actually use it once this is done but it would be a neat party trick. Having it connected to a media server could be quite useful as well.

@linmob My Galaxy A5 does work as a phone but there are some definite issues such as having to boot to recovery in order to charge reliably, brightness stuck on the maximum setting, and several issues with phone calls.

I certainly wouldn't go as far as the site describes it as I've successfully used this setup as my main phone for 9 months now but I can see where they're coming from.

OK, watching my YouTube subscriptions via RSS (web feeds) is something I never thought I'd want.

Now I can't live without it.

In @Thunderbird, the videos in my list auto-play when clicked. I can delete it (like an email) when I'm done or if I'm just not into it, and the next one auto-plays.

They're searchable, I can apply filters, I can make my OWN "playlists" by using subfolders, etc.

@martijnbraam On advanced mode now. This is wild. I think I will use this from now on. I've already voted normal mode and I can't find a way to change it so adjust if necessary.

@martijnbraam Now that you've prompted me to look at the option properly, I may well try advanced mode. Thanks for the heads up.

@postmarketOS I don't seem to have received the update on my Samsung Galaxy A5 2015 yet - Tweaks still shows me as being on v21.12.2 and sudo apk update/upgrade doesn't fetch any updated packages - I have tried this on both my home Wi-Fi and my mobile data. Are the 'binary packages' referred to in the blog post the images on bpo or the apk repositories?

This website is hilarious inspirobot.me - it's an A.I. that generates inspirational quotes, but some of them are just weird and others are more "demotivational"

I've gone back to on my phone. Plasma Mobile has made fine progress in the latest release of but it's not quite daily-driver-ready on my device yet.

New year, new phone software. Just tried out on the new version of and it's working pretty well so far.

Hello all. My name is UltrasonicMadness and I intend to use this page for updates on my software projects, along with occasional posts about other areas of interest. My main project so far is a frontend for the music generation software, though I have much in the works behind the scenes. ultrasonicmadness.org/software
