Seen a group of Chinese students kidding on to be pure coughing as people were walking by at Glasgow uni today n it's the only bit of decent patter I've seen in the place in three weeks since having to take a class there.

I’ve been to war, twice. Iraq in ‘09 and Afghanistan in 2011. I am just a fucking ER doc. But it was there, in the deserts far,far from home, that I made my bones as a newly board certified ER doc. It is around that time, I think that I lost my capacity to feel joy.

Did another experiment. Created an innocuous looking Twitter account ( no indication by name etc. as to and political leanings ). Followed a single account ( official 10 Downing Street). Within a day started to get recommendations for people like Darren Grimes, Britain First accounts, and other nasty accounts in the underbelly of far right English nationalism and Brexit. Seem clear that the algorithms have aligned the UK government with far right views.
