Looking west from Stob Dearg with Buachaille Etive Beag guarding the entrance to Glen Coe. Aonach Eagach is to the right.
@mikeyh We live in a beautiful country!
@Hadenuff yes, it's a truely amazing place with wonderful people (in the main).
@mikeyh
thats a spot i need to visit for sure - stunning!
@Shempa79 you definitely should. A very special place and very special people (though very changeable weather and biting insects in the summer).
@mikeyh
yeah - midge heaven! :)
@Shempa79 once went camping at King's House Hotel on Rannoch Moor. Went to the hotel bar to escape the midges. Even though there was still some light outside, the windows were black with millions of the little blighters seeking to drink your blood. Horrific!
@Shempa79 If you're in Edinburgh, it's probably about a 2 hour drive to Glencoe.
@mikeyh
yup, i've been through the Glen before, but never scaled the mountains (yet!).
@Shempa79 definitely should. The view from the top of Stob Dearg was amazing. Fabulous walk down the spine of Buachaille Etive Mòr finishing with a grand view southwest over Glen Etive. There is a relatively easy way up to the right of the front wall.
@mikeyh
Brilliant, thanks for that. Only joined this last week and am on it all the time at present. Got to get a life, been on it for hours already today! such a nice change to the birdcage though.
@Shempa79 Likewise. Must get the dog out. He's been hinting for a while now that he'd like to go for a walk.
