#introduction I’m Michael, a Computer Science lecturer in St Andrews, Scotland.
I like making cocktails, learning French, and designing and playing board games. I also like playing old video games (currently playing Warcraft 1), watching and reviewing films (see https://letterboxd.com/mtorpey), and in 2016 I wrote a novel about elephants which is still lingering in first draft status (#NaNoWriMo).
I still use two spaces after a full stop, although I think I’m the only one left.

The red elephants of Tsavo are the ONLY red elephants in the world.
However, contrary to what many think, their skin is not red! They owe their rich colour to the Park's fine red volcanic soils, where they constantly dust-bathe.
