What is

This is a Mastodon instance primarily intended for (but not limited to) users in Scotland or who identify as Scottish.

Why should I join this instance?

By joining this instance you get at the end of your username which proves just how very Scottish you are (or aren’t, but wish you were). Isn’t that great? And of course you'll be in good (possibly) Scottish company.

Are there any rules?

We like to be easygoing, but also we all need to get along.

Threatening, abusive, intolerant or illegal behaviour may lead to moderation and/or further measures. The Content Warning flag should be used for NSFW content.

Anything else I ought to know?

Because we believe in the Mastodon community we also run a relay for other instances.

What is Mastodon?

Mastodon is a social network based on open web protocols and free, open-source software. It is decentralized like e-mail.

Administered by:

Built for real conversation
With 500 characters at your disposal and support for granular content and media warnings, you can express yourself the way you want to.
You’re a person, not a product
Mastodon is not a commercial network. No advertising, no data mining, no walled gardens. There is no central authority.
Always within reach
Multiple apps for iOS, Android, and other platforms thanks to a developer-friendly API ecosystem allow you to keep up with your friends anywhere.
A more humane approach
Learning from failures of other networks, Mastodon aims to make ethical design choices to combat the misuse of social media.
