A really important piece of broadcasting yesterday on Police Mental Health.
No, not #copsincrisis on C4.
But @SP_Justice@twitter.com on https://www.scottishparliament.tv/meeting/criminal-justice-committee-december-7-2022?clip_start=11:46:40&clip_end=12:12:08
The Committee is leading the wellbeing charge where @PoliceScotland@twitter.com and @ScotPolAuth@twitter.com have been failing.
Listening, questioning and challenging. The empathy and interest from all on the committee is palpable and I’m once again left wondering why it takes politicians to do this work. Why hasn’t @ScotPolAuth@twitter.com been in this space?
The public papers https://www.parliament.scot/~/media/committ/4632 outline the experiences of 6 of our officers who bravely gave evidence in private. This builds on the 40 pages of verbatim evidence I presented in May document.
Thankyou @SP_Justice@twitter.com for caring, for listening and for showing what real scrutiny and leadership is like. Westminster and all police authorities across these Islands, take note and learn.
A few enquiries received re where papers can be found. All are on committees website but specifically
