This is from a project on a magical place in the Highlands of Scotland called The Clootie Wells, which I first (and last, due to the pandemic) exhibited in Edinburgh in 2019.

I like to write a lot as accompaniment to my work, but I’ll leave that stuff over there.

The article I link above is also the most open I have ever been about my illness, but it is for the purpose of explaining the psychologies at play in places like this. I'm not looking for sympathy here. It's my life and i live it.
I have an AirBnB (part of the problem I fear) booked to go back home to the highlands for the first time since I made this work, to either finish it or decide that it's much bigger than it currently is.
So there's a little more to come from this project as it stands.
The fact is that this phenomenon is actually huge. It's in surprising places, and there is some very interesting #archaeology and #ContemporaryArchaeology research ongoing into the history of this and actually into the renewed practice in a modern context.
Oh crap. I'm talking myself into this being a much bigger project aren't I?
I should add, I lifted most of the additional text in the alt from something i wrote last year.
So the "clearing" happened last year. I'm still very bitter about it.
