I love this taxi lamp outside the Corinthian Club on Ingram Street in Glasgow, but it has always slightly confused me as to why it's there.
@thisismyglasgow Behind the lamp, a concise history of Union Bank's predecessors in Glasgow banking history on the shields in the photo: Old Ship Bank 1760 (though I think that is 10 years late?), Thistle Bank 1761, Forbes private bank 1773, Glasgow Banking Co. 1809.
@AllyD Yes. I've got a photo of the full set, which I'll post at some point as they're quite an interesting feature of the building.
@thisismyglasgow As ever, a lot can be learned from looking up when walking through Glasgow.
