Dad dropping me off at the station, check ScotRail app, train on time. Say bye, cross bridge, onto platform, where the information screen informed me that the train is running late.
Wondering again why they advise checking the app before travelling??

@LordWoolamaloo I tend to use https://opentraintimes.com or https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk as they shows all the live data, including all timing points, not just the stations
@drnoble Yep, ScotRail's own app is not great, but fortunately not a long delay. It was more about the fact they always encourage us to check the app before travelling, and I did, and 30 seconds later the station board told me totally different! App speaks with forked tongue, do not believe its lies!!
@LordWoolamaloo you’re lucky you’re not standing at Edinburgh Park at 8:30 in the morning watching train after train go flying past without stopping because one was cancelled. Yes, I arrived late.
Lothian buses app continues to recommend waiting for a 16 or a 36 on Commercial Street, Leith.
The 16 has been diverted along Great Junction Street for about two weeks already but the app evidently doesn’t know that.
And if you’re on Great Junction Street, it doesn’t tell you what buses are coming.
@peterbrown The Lothian Bus App and the screens at the stops often contradict each other (even after the new screens were finally updated to supposedly real time info). It's very confusing and really not reliable, and as you say, doesn't seem to notice long running diversions etc.
