@MikeBolam Oh wow! How often do you get to see the aurora in Scotland?
@Howard It’s much more common than many people would believe, there is however the often blanket cloud cover, which is far more common than the Aurora. I’ve got dark skies, mostly free from light pollution, and a clear view to the north, which helps!
@MikeBolam Ahhh I have been meaning to explore more of the UK - you know, one of those things where so many secrets are on your doorstep but you are just looking further afield kind of thing.
Would love to shoot the aurora in Scotland sometime. I shot it before in the Arctic Circle and that was magical!
@Howard if conditions are right, it can be seen quite far south. SpaceWeather.Com is a good site for info, together with a variety of Aurora Apps. Best thing to do would be to plan a trip North, and you may just get a bonus!
@MikeBolam Haha this is why I preferred to go to the Arctic as it was pretty much guaranteed to happen nearly everyday. Just had to deal with weather.
When I went in January, I was lucky to have been able to see nearly everyday I was there.
