Today's random cute dog in art, seen at the Uffizi. Artist is thought to be Niccolo Rondinelli and it was painted in 1511. The description notes that the presence of elements such as the "Maltese terrier" made it unsuitable to be considered a sacred artwork. As far as I'm concerned, that's what does make it a sacred artwork.
