I have a theory about why every social media post about either cyclist or biker safety immediately gets swamped by really angry car drivers who want to kill us, and it comes down to ignorance.
Most cyclists and bikers are also car drivers, so we can see both points of view.
Most car drivers are only car drivers, which makes it harder to understand the different points of view. Learning to drive a car should include some time on 2 wheels.

@CloudyMrs all true. And once car drivers have say 10 years experience of driving a car, they should be obliged to sit a test for driving a heavy vehicle like a truck or a coach. It completely changes your perspective of the road.

@peterbrown I agree. I also have an HGV licence. All forms of transport need slightly different skills. I always appreciated folk who understood turning circles and stopping distances when driving something big. Knowing how other folk see things, really helps.
