What's your experience with less general #Mastodon instances? 
For me, the first one was fine but restrictive (e.g. it blocked Mastodon Social, news, trending hashtags, posts, and such), so since I'm deleting my Twitter or 'X' today, I figured I should be on a more general instance long-term.

The one I'm on is absolutely great for me, I have seen other instances that would also suit me too, but I'm not inclined to move, as I know the admin, Trumpet, is active & looking after it. Find the one ye think suits ye best. Social is highly populated, only of its own making, doesn't mean it's popular...
@riggs7sct I guess I picked Mastodon Social because I thought it would be the best Twitter replacement. I didn't like that the smaller one didn't have a news or trending tab..
Ye can still search all that from a smaller instance. I'm always learning something new on #Mastodon still
@riggs7sct Yeah, I did have a list of hashtags I followed, but I really missed the trending news feature. It seems much more robust on this instance.
What app are ye using?
@riggs7sct I'm just using the official website on my laptop, and a web app version of it on my phone. It was an admin decision to block trending tabs on my former instance :/
Well, that's shit. Can't be helped if the admin blocked it. 
What phone d'ye have? There's some decent apps out there to use
@riggs7sct A Samsung S22. I liked the Megalodon app, but I'm sort of used to the web app by now, works just like an app. What do you use?
I'm on an Oppo Find X5, and I used to use the Megalodon app, it's decent enough.
I switched to the Moshidon app after I stopped getting notifications on Megalodon, and stuck with it since. Suits what I need.
When I'm on my laptop, I just use whatever browser I have open.

No worries, I've tried pretty much all o' the apps on the play store, and there's a few I'd recommend, although it's entirely up to any one looking, to decide what they prefer to use.
