The best part about being a museum educator:
Mothers with artificial eyelashes wanting a refund for a birthday, because it's "impossible for six year olds" to cut out a motive drawn on a paper ... yes, sure.
You gotta graduate primary school to do that. Don't you remember turning 12 and finally being allowed crafting with paper?! ...
#RandomThings from a shelf:
- Charlie Brown book (1970s)
- Tower Records bookmark (1990s)
- 12th Night theatre programme (1948? Alec Guinness producing)
- Nuclear Reactor Top Trumps.
- Photo I took of a dinosaur (1980)
- Manchester Jazz Festival programme (1990).
- Star Wars bubble gum card (1978)
- HUP comic by Robert Crumb (1987)
- Amulet (free with the DVD release of Dark Waters (1993)
I just bought a piano!
This will bring my music/experimental poetry project forward, and it's a childhood dream coming true.
My violin needed the company as well.
Yay!
In my dream, my old cat who died years ago returned and now could turn into a big lion and he was sad when I got scared of him.
I miss you, Jonny.
My atopic eczema seems to leave my eyes alone finally, after 2 months of fighting it. I can*t put into words how happy it makes me to have eyelids the normal size again. And I hope I can keep this up despite the winter air ...
Witches are these people with needles that make flowers grow.
Here is a needle felting collection I gave away for christmas.
Weird little random thing:
Trips into the Netherlands make me claustrophobic. Each train station has this barrier and often, my german ticket is valid on the train but not for the barrier. Information and restroom are often behind it, so it's uncomfortable to get stuck.
.. and I worry about it the evening before ...
I live in the biggest county/state of Germany, in a region where driving from one city to the other for work is totally normal. Still, today I had to get up at 4 to leave in time to walk an hour to catch a train that takes an hour longer than my usual connection. Construction works and a national holiday combine badly. Holy shit, I'm done ... It summarizes what living in Germany feels like. in Budapest, I fell in love with the Metro.
I am terribly claustrophobic. For the museum here in Budapest, I need a key card to operate the lift that leads to the office. I took this selfie as proof that I did it.
After a week in Hungary, I still get confused using their currency and handling thousands of Forints in the grocery store. Cars only stop for you to cross the street when you're basically already on it and I am super excited whenever I understand new phrases my colleagues use. Yesterday it was "Még egy perc" - "still one minute (left)".
On my way to Budapest with the drama of the German trains.
2 days ago, I received an E-Nail that my train leaves earlier and suddenly my original route was not available anymore.
Yesterday, my original route was available again.
This morning, I received two E-Nails.
The first one informed me that my second connection train will be replaced, the second one said the whole Joyrney was canceled.
12 hours of this. Wish me luck!
I am a bad kitchen witch today. I burned chocolate while melting it and left the beaten egg white in the fridge, while wondering while the dough looked so weird.
I'm the witch that poisons you by accident.
Slices of my witching life:
I passed my final exam as a basic science teacher, despite a full blown panic attack halfway through, and celebrated it with an evening of "Barbenheimer".
"Because I match Cilian Murphy in a Trench coat with Barbie girls?", my witch giggles.
I didn't say that. But Barbie was the better movie. That one I said.
Chrome Snakes? No, just the arms of a broken glass chandelier. #AYearForArt #RandomThings #SpringIntoArt #BlackAndWhitePhotography
Sometimes on my travels around Glasgow, I come across truly random things, like a cassette of Dionne Warwick's Heartbreaker from 1982 hanging on a twig beside a path in the Botanic Gardens!
Wonder what’ll happen if I do a wee #introduction ‘toot’. *grimaces*
I’m still at The Other Place for now as this place is helluva clunky.
