I miss the olden days of photo albums, so each year I make a book of family, friend & travel photos. Currently sorting out 2024. Love the 360 camera but it does add time on to this process. Also I get distracted playing. In related news here's Eilean Donan castle in the Scottish Highlands.

Approximately the same legend as the one of Muggensturm is told about the Dilsberg, a mountain fortress above Neckargemünd. This castle, too, has allegedly repelled a hostile assault by merely hurling beehives down at the attackers, whose inhabitants savaged the besieging forces.

In the year 1799, the French sought to take this fortress as well, but they were thrown back by the recuperating invalids stationed there as well as a mob of farmers from the Odenwald region. They suffered losses of more than 70 dead. People still show the so-called “Franzosenhügel” (“Frenchmen’s Hill”) where these corpses rest.

Schloss Hungen - Ein Juwel in Mittelhessen

Mitten in Hungen steht dieses märchenhafte Schloss - einst Sitz der Grafen von Solms-Braunfels, heute liebevoll restauriert und lebendig genutzt.
Fachwerk, Türmchen und ein Hauch Geschichte laden zum Träumen ein.

Blick auf das märchenhafte Schloss Hungen im Frühling: Das historische Fachwerkgebäude leuchtet in warmem Weiß und Rot unter einem hellen Himmel.
